The work Penjelajah Samudra (The Sea Explorers) by M. Irfan was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 300,000.00 (€ 27,901.95), 36% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by M. Irfan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History), which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).

Die Arbeit Penjelajah Samudra (The Sea Explorers) von M. Irfan wurde im April 2014 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 27.901,95) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von M. Irfan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History) beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 740.000,00 (€ 77.088,32) versteigert wurde.
