This artwork by M. Irfan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Glory, Country, Romance sold for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 36,033.52) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by M. Irfan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History), which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 740,000.00 (€ 77,088.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von M. Irfan erzielte im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Glory, Country, Romance für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 36.033,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von M. Irfan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jangan Pernah Lupakan Sejarah (Never Forget the History) beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 740.000,00 (€ 77.088,32) versteigert wurde.
