This artwork by Lui Shou-Kwan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September this year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Lion Rock, 1961 sold for USD 12,160.00 (€ 11,489.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lui Shou-Kwan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victoria Harbour After Rain in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 4,240,000.00 (€ 415,048.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lui Shou-Kwan erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Lion Rock, 1961 für USD 12.160,00 (€ 11.489,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lui Shou-Kwan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Victoria Harbour After Rain im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.240.000,00 (€ 415.048,60).
