This artwork by Luong Xuan Nhi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Morning Session) auction, the work Le Pécheur Et Sa Famille (Fisherman And Family) sold for HKD 4,685,000.00 (€ 536,196.97) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,600,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Luong Xuan Nhi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Le Repos (Resting) sold at auction in July 2020 with the realized price of HKD 5,165,000.00 (€ 565,895.19).
