Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2008 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction An Important Collection of Vietnamese Paintings Featuring The Philip Ng Collection, which included the work Late Afternoon Chimes by Luong Xuan Nhi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 487,500.00 (€ 40,176.16), 22% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luong Xuan Nhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Repos (Resting) in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 5,165,000.00 (€ 565,895.19).
