Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Atmosphère chromoplastique No. 303 by Luis Tomasello was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 53,648.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luis Tomasello - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Atmosphère Chromoplastique No. 404, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 250,000.00 (€ 210,119.35).
