Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Luis Caballero was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,451.19). Other works by Luis Caballero have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2010 by the work without title at USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,095.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Luis Caballero im November 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.451,19) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Luis Caballero wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2010 die Arbeit ohne Titel mit USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.095,43).
