Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Baptism Of Christ by Luigi Garzi was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2012. It achieved a price of USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,827.60), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Admittedly, works by Luigi Garzi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diana and Callisto in April 2001 with an auction result of GBP 32,900.00 (€ 53,038.92).

Die Arbeit The Baptism Of Christ von Luigi Garzi wurde im Juni 2012 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.827,60) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luigi Garzi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diana and Callisto im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.900,00 (€ 53.038,92).
