This artwork by Ludwig Knaus achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2017. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work German peace sold for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,858.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ludwig Knaus have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Charity in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 296,000.00 (€ 234,474.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 94 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ludwig Knaus erzielte im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit German peace für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.858,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ludwig Knaus auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Charity im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 296.000,00 (€ 234.474,02).
