A top price for Ludwig Knaus - as previously expected
The work Charity by Ludwig Knaus was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in April 2006. The price achieved of USD 296,000.00 (€ 234,474.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Charity is the most expensive artwork by Ludwig Knaus that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Charity von Ludwig Knaus wurde im April 2006 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 296.000,00 (€ 234.474,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Charity das teuerste Kunstwerk von Ludwig Knaus, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
