Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ludolf Bakhuizen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2015. In the Old Master and British Drawings auction, the work Ships At Sea, With Figures Watching From The Coastline sold for USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,358.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludolf Bakhuizen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A States Yacht and other ships on the sea in stormy weather in July last year with an auction result of GBP 730,800.00 (€ 872,705.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ludolf Bakhuizen erzielte im Januar 2015 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings wurde die Arbeit Ships At Sea, With Figures Watching From The Coastline für USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.358,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ludolf Bakhuizen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A States Yacht and other ships on the sea in stormy weather im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 730.800,00 (€ 872.705,00).
