In July 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work A Man-O-War, Together With Boats And Fishermen Hauling In Their Catch by Ludolf Bakhuizen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 170,500.00 (€ 215,054.11), 71% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ludolf Bakhuizen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A States Yacht and other ships on the sea in stormy weather in July last year with an auction result of GBP 730,800.00 (€ 872,705.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 71 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Man-O-War, Together With Boats And Fishermen Hauling In Their Catch von Ludolf Bakhuizen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 170.500,00 (€ 215.054,11) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ludolf Bakhuizen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A States Yacht and other ships on the sea in stormy weather im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 730.800,00 (€ 872.705,00).
