Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Giving Tree by Lucy Bull was worth HKD 4,662,000.00 (€ 558,673.02) to a buyer in December last year. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle at Phillips in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lucy Bull - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 8:50, which sold at auction in June last year for HKD 11,382,000.00 (€ 1,385,105.36).

Die Arbeit Giving Tree von Lucy Bull war einem Käufer im Dezember letzten Jahres HKD 4.662.000,00 (€ 558.673,02) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle bei Phillips in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.500.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Lucy Bull mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 8:50 beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für HKD 11.382.000,00 (€ 1.385.105,36) versteigert wurde.
