Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mother and Child, 1969 by Lucas Tandokwazi Sithole was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Bonhams in London in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,684.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Lucas Tandokwazi Sithole have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2018 the work South African day Dreamer was auctioned for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,867.30).
