The »bidding war« ended at USD 118,750.00 (€ 106,464.05), 48% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Luca Forte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A basket of apples, calabashes, an upturned copper vessel, figs, melons, with other fruit on rocky ledges in April 2006 with an auction result of GBP 500,800.00 (€ 722,795.94).

Die Arbeit Apples and grapes in a basket with fish on a stone ledge von Luca Forte wurde im Juni 2015 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 106.464,05) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luca Forte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A basket of apples, calabashes, an upturned copper vessel, figs, melons, with other fruit on rocky ledges im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 500.800,00 (€ 722.795,94).
