This artwork by Luca Forte achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2007. In the Important Old Master Paintings Part II auction, the work A watermelon and a melon, quince, peaches, crabapples, grapes and figs in a landscape sold for USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luca Forte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A basket of apples, calabashes, an upturned copper vessel, figs, melons, with other fruit on rocky ledges in April 2006 with an auction result of GBP 500,800.00 (€ 722,795.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luca Forte erzielte im April 2007 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Part II wurde die Arbeit A watermelon and a melon, quince, peaches, crabapples, grapes and figs in a landscape für USD 96.000,00 (€ 70.278,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luca Forte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A basket of apples, calabashes, an upturned copper vessel, figs, melons, with other fruit on rocky ledges im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 500.800,00 (€ 722.795,94).
