In November last year Christies in London held the auction Le Jeune, A Collecting Legacy: The London No Reserve Edit, which included the work Firewood by Luc Tuymans. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,260.00 (€ 1,460.05), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luc Tuymans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mrs. in February 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,482,500.00 (€ 1,899,640.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Le Jeune, A Collecting Legacy: The London No Reserve Edit durch, in der auch die Arbeit Firewood von Luc Tuymans zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.260,00 (€ 1.460,05) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luc Tuymans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mrs. im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.482.500,00 (€ 1.899.640,69).
