The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,548.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louise Rayner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Watergate Street, Chester in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 28,680.00 (€ 41,170.56).
