Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Legends, Landscapes, and Lovelies | Photographs, which included the work Lauren Bacall by Louise Dahl-Wolfe. The price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,715.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louise Dahl-Wolfe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nude On Beach, California, 1948 in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,998.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Legends, Landscapes, and Lovelies | Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lauren Bacall von Louise Dahl-Wolfe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.715,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louise Dahl-Wolfe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nude On Beach, California, 1948 im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.998,79).
