Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flora by Louise Abbéma was sold in the 19th Century European Art and Fine 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in October 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,070.00 (€ 31,444.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Louise Abbéma have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Renée Delmas de Pont-Jest in May last year with an auction result of USD 138,600.00 (€ 129,158.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Flora von Louise Abbéma wurde im Oktober 2002 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art and Fine 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.070,00 (€ 31.444,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louise Abbéma auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Renée Delmas de Pont-Jest im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 129.158,51).
