In June 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work A Faithful Companion by Louise Abbéma. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,699.00), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louise Abbéma achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Renée Delmas de Pont-Jest in May last year with an auction result of USD 138,600.00 (€ 129,158.51).

Im Juni 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Faithful Companion von Louise Abbéma zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.699,00) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louise Abbéma erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Renée Delmas de Pont-Jest im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 129.158,51).
