Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Louis Wain achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Bedtime sold for GBP 4,480.00 (€ 5,191.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis Wain have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Come Birdie Come and Live with Me in November this year with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 44,497.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis Wain erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Bedtime für GBP 4.480,00 (€ 5.191,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Wain auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Come Birdie Come and Live with Me im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 44.497,25).
