Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipping on rough waters by Louis Verboeckhoven was sold in the Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2011. The price achieved of EUR 2,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Verboeckhoven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Calm: Sailingvessels In An Estuary At Dusk ; A Storm: Sailing Vessels Approaching A Harbour in June 2001 with an auction result of NLG 76,375.00 (€ 36,709.39).
