Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 5.452,00 und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Toffoli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Les Bucherons, 1959 beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für EUR 17.349,00 versteigert wurde.
