In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Boulle to Jansen: An Important Private European Collection, which included the work The Spanish three-masted barque Balear heading into Marseilles by Louis Pellegrin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,464.93), 55% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Louis Pellegrin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Spanish brig Jayne Ferrer approaching Marseilles with the pilot boat off her stern sold at auction in June 2003 with the realized price of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 6,010.48).

Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Boulle to Jansen: An Important Private European Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Spanish three-masted barque Balear heading into Marseilles von Louis Pellegrin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.464,93) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Louis Pellegrin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Spanish brig Jayne Ferrer approaching Marseilles with the pilot boat off her stern im Juni 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 6.010,48).
