In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Etienne François D'Aligre, Comte De Marans And Marquis D'Aligre (1727-1798), Half Length, In Robes Of Office by Louis-Michel van Loo for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,163.16). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Michel van Loo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of The Comtesse Marie Louise De Beaurepaire, Seated Full Length In A Landscape Holding A Garland Of Flowers in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 550,449.00).
