Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Louis-Michel van Loo could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings from the Lagerfeld Collection auction, the work Portrait of a man, said to be Monsieur de Boulogne, three-quarter-length, in an orange velvet costume changed hands for USD 116,000.00 (€ 124,356.78) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis-Michel van Loo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of The Comtesse Marie Louise De Beaurepaire, Seated Full Length In A Landscape Holding A Garland Of Flowers in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 550,449.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis-Michel van Loo konnte im Mai 2000 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings from the Lagerfeld Collection wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of a man, said to be Monsieur de Boulogne, three-quarter-length, in an orange velvet costume für USD 116.000,00 (€ 124.356,78) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00.
