Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Soldier'S Farewell; And The Return by Louis-Joseph Watteau was auctioned at Christies in New York in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,600.00 (€ 12,035.53). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis-Joseph Watteau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Récréation Des Moissonneurs; La Famille Villageoise, which sold at auction in June 2009 for EUR 36,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Soldier'S Farewell; And The Return von Louis-Joseph Watteau im Juni letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.600,00 (€ 12.035,53) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis-Joseph Watteau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Récréation Des Moissonneurs; La Famille Villageoise beobachtet, die im Juni 2009 für EUR 36.750,00 versteigert wurde.
