Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le Marchand Ambulant; Le Marchand D'Étainlouis Joseph Watteau, Called Watteau De Lille ; The Peddler, The Tin Merchant ; Oil On Panel, A Pair ; Signed And Dated Lower Left by Louis-Joseph Watteau was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 8,1 Admittedly, works by Louis-Joseph Watteau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Récréation Des Moissonneurs; La Famille Villageoise in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 36,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le Marchand Ambulant; Le Marchand D'Étainlouis Joseph Watteau, Called Watteau De Lille ; The Peddler, The Tin Merchant ; Oil On Panel, A Pair ; Signed And Dated Lower Left von Louis-Joseph Watteau im Juni 2011 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 8.125,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis-Joseph Watteau auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Récréation Des Moissonneurs; La Famille Villageoise im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 36.750,00.
