Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work A pastoral scene with a merchant family presenting goods to a family outside a house by Louis-Joseph Watteau. The price achieved of EUR 5,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis-Joseph Watteau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Récréation Des Moissonneurs; La Famille Villageoise in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 36,750.00.

Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) durch, in der auch die Arbeit A pastoral scene with a merchant family presenting goods to a family outside a house von Louis-Joseph Watteau zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis-Joseph Watteau auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Récréation Des Moissonneurs; La Famille Villageoise im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 36.750,00.
