The work Unknown by Louis Hottot was worth EUR 2,640.00 to a buyer in April 2007. This price was achieved in the auction Intérieurs at Christies in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 800.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Louis Hottot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ottomans, Couple in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 23,167.00.
