Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work French Arab With Sword And Arab With Jewels: Two Works by Louis Hottot for USD 5,625.00 (€ 3,613.18). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Louis Hottot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ottomans, Couple in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 23,167.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit French Arab With Sword And Arab With Jewels: Two Works von Louis Hottot für USD 5.625,00 (€ 3.613,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Hottot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ottomans, Couple im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 23.167,00.
