Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View Of Harfleur by Louis Gabriel Moreau was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 553.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gabriel Moreau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 103,858.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View Of Harfleur von Louis Gabriel Moreau im Januar 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 625,00 (€ 553,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Gabriel Moreau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 103.858,94).
