Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Louis Gabriel Moreau could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction, the work A river landscape with cliffs changed hands for GBP 1,100.00 (€ 1,313.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gabriel Moreau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 103,858.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis Gabriel Moreau konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 wechselte die Arbeit A river landscape with cliffs für GBP 1.100,00 (€ 1.313,60) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Gabriel Moreau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 103.858,94).
