Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Louis Gabriel Moreau could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction, the work A river landscape with cliffs changed hands for GBP 1,100.00 (€ 1,313.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gabriel Moreau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 103,858.94).
