Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A river landscape with ruins by an aqueduct by Louis Gabriel Moreau was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,466.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gabriel Moreau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 103,858.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A river landscape with ruins by an aqueduct von Louis Gabriel Moreau wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.275,00 (€ 1.466,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Gabriel Moreau erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 103.858,94).
