Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A river landscape with ruins by an aqueduct by Louis Gabriel Moreau was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,466.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gabriel Moreau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 103,858.94).
