Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work L'Heure Du Bain; And Promenade Près D'Un Parc by Louis Gabriel Moreau for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,777.78). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Gabriel Moreau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Moonlit Landscape With Boatmen in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 103,858.94).
