Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Louis de Caullery could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work The Rape of the Sabines changed hands for USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,419.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis de Caullery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Crucifixion On Mount Calvary in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 114,500.00 (€ 155,586.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis de Caullery konnte im April 2017 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit The Rape of the Sabines für USD 37.500,00 (€ 34.419,46) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis de Caullery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Crucifixion On Mount Calvary im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 114.500,00 (€ 155.586,08).
