A top price for Louis de Boullogne - as previously expected
In January 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Courts of Europe, which included the work Venus In The Forge Of Vulcan by Louis de Boullogne. The price achieved of USD 173,000.00 (€ 128,148.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Venus In The Forge Of Vulcan is the most expensive artwork by Louis de Boullogne that we have observed at auctions so far.
