Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Male Nude Leaning On His Right Knee, His Left Leg Raised by Louis de Boullogne was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,089.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis de Boullogne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus In The Forge Of Vulcan in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 173,000.00 (€ 128,148.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Male Nude Leaning On His Right Knee, His Left Leg Raised von Louis de Boullogne im Januar 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.089,46) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis de Boullogne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Venus In The Forge Of Vulcan im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 173.000,00 (€ 128.148,15).
