It achieved a price of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,699.47), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Aimé Japy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cattle watering in an extensive lake landscape in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 31,899.38).

Die Arbeit A girl resting in pasture von Louis-Aimé Japy kam im Januar 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.699,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis-Aimé Japy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cattle watering in an extensive lake landscape im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 31.899,38).
