It achieved a price of USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,031.60), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 52%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lois Mailou Jones; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Le Consulat sold at auction in April 2012 with the realized price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,173.41).

Die Arbeit Study For Mural Painting, "Light", Howard University von Lois Mailou Jones kam im April 2012 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 8.031,60) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 52%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lois Mailou Jones; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Le Consulat im April 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.173,41).
