Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Wooded landscape by a lake by Lockwood de Forest. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,449.32). Admittedly, works by Lockwood de Forest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset Beyond a Valley in April this year with an auction result of USD 17,850.00 (€ 16,168.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wooded landscape by a lake von Lockwood de Forest zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.449,32) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lockwood de Forest auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset Beyond a Valley im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.850,00 (€ 16.168,48).
