Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Early Spring by Lockwood de Forest for USD 375.00 (€ 271.88). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lockwood de Forest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset Beyond a Valley in April this year with an auction result of USD 17,850.00 (€ 16,168.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Early Spring von Lockwood de Forest für USD 375,00 (€ 271,88) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lockwood de Forest erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset Beyond a Valley im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.850,00 (€ 16.168,48).
