Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nocturne at Hot Spring Creek, Montecito and Nocturne with Sea Cliffs (a group of two) each 9 1/2 x 13 1/2 in. each framed 15 1/2 x 19 1/2 in. by Lockwood de Forest was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December last year. The price achieved of USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,787.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Lockwood de Forest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset Beyond a Valley in April this year with an auction result of USD 17,850.00 (€ 16,168.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nocturne at Hot Spring Creek, Montecito and Nocturne with Sea Cliffs (a group of two) each 9 1/2 x 13 1/2 in. each framed 15 1/2 x 19 1/2 in. von Lockwood de Forest kam im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.787,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lockwood de Forest auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset Beyond a Valley im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.850,00 (€ 16.168,48).
