In April 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Ontwaakt: Awaken by Lizzy Ansingh. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 40,630.00 16% above the upper estimate. With this result, Ontwaakt: Awaken is even the most expensive work of art by Lizzy Ansingh that we have observed at auctions so far.
