This artwork by Liu Yanshui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Mountains and Vallerys sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 15,436.21) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Liu Yanshui; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscape sold at auction in May 2012 with the realized price of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 23,439.02).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Yanshui erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Mountains and Vallerys für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 15.436,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Liu Yanshui; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Landscape im Mai 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 23.439,02).
