This artwork by Liu Yanshui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. In the Fine Modern Chinese Paintings auction, the work Forest and Mountains sold for HKD 180,000.00 (€ 17,139.67) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Liu Yanshui; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscape sold at auction in May 2012 with the realized price of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 23,439.02).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Yanshui erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Modern Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Forest and Mountains für HKD 180.000,00 (€ 17.139,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Liu Yanshui; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Landscape im Mai 2012 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 23.439,02).
