The work Moon’s Metamorphoses No. 12 by Liu Kuo-Sung was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 478,800.00 (€ 57,377.23), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Kuo-Sung achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Trajectory of the Planet in April this year with an auction result of HKD 1,800,000.00 (€ 1,838,152.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Moon’s Metamorphoses No. 12 von Liu Kuo-Sung wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 478.800,00 (€ 57.377,23) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Kuo-Sung erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Trajectory of the Planet im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.800.000,00 (€ 1.838.152,17).
