This artwork by Liu Kang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work French Village sold for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 65,947.49) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liu Kang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Adjusting The Waistband in May last year with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Kang erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit French Village für HKD 625.000,00 (€ 65.947,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 350.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Kang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Adjusting The Waistband im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60).
