The work Roadside Stalls, Malaya by Liu Kang was sold in the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November last year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,071,000.00 (€ 132,902.35), 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Kang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Adjusting The Waistband, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).

Die Arbeit Roadside Stalls, Malaya von Liu Kang wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.071.000,00 (€ 132.902,35) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Kang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Adjusting The Waistband beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60) versteigert wurde.
